PAGAK – A reliable source disclosed it to the Upper Nile Times today that the government forces have attacked the position of SPLM-IO in Mangok as the government is trying to advance their position.

However, the freedom fighters under the leadership of the military Gen. Chayot Manyang, and under the overall command of General Khor Chuol Giet have repulsed back the attackers to their trenches. “They are right now being pursued to unknown location. We will uproot them and leave the area cleared,” said the officer who chooses to remain anonymous.

When our source contacted Col. Philiph Aguer to verify their position, his phone could not go through.

The violence that broke out in December 2013, engulfed the entire nation of South Sudan with war spreading to different States such as Western Equatoria, Western Bhar El Gazal, and Northern Bhar El Gazal . More than 50, 000, killed, hundreds of thousands trapped in the UNMIS Camps, and 1.9 million people displaced to neighbouring countries.
