JUBA – South Sudan government has finally decided to give clearance to the army chief of staff of IO and his bodyguards of about 200 armed personnel to come to Juba whenever a charter plane is found, according to the spokesman James Gatdet Dak.
Dak, according to an official statement he issued on his Facebook account remarked that the permission to grant clearance only covers about 195 light weapon – armed guards accompanying Chief of staff Lt Gen Simon Gatwech Dual.
Gen Dual was previously arranged to arrive in Juba first to clear way for Machar’s arrival. But due to back and forth obstacles with the permit of clearance from Juba, he has since been stranded at Gambella airport with his over 200 army officers.
The clearance unlocked the standoff between the two warring parties which have since delayed the formation of the national unity government expected to have taken place this week.
