JUBA – A daring report from the National Security detailed that about 1400 heavily armed SPLA personnels were sent to Uganda on Tuesday to fulfil a request made by H.E Gen Yoweri Museveni to provide security in some hot spots of Kampala (and all other sensitive areas of Uganda) during elections and to execute orders in any case of election fall out.

The report titled “Brotherly respond to H.E. Yoweri” contained a list of ammunitions taken to Uganda by SPLA soldiers and the location of the SPLA bases in Uganda as well as civilian targets in case of any election fall out.

The battalion according to the report is among many requests President Yoweri Museveni made to President Kiir since December last year in anticipation of any fault plays of his re-election.

Last week, a Minister in the office of the President was reported to have taken more than $2 million dollars to Uganda to “help Museveni win election”.

The report from the National Security detailed an executive plan of securing major hot spots in Kampala, Entebbe and Eastern areas of Uganda seen to be sympathetic to Dr Kizza Besigye, the principal opponent to President Yoweri Museveni.

Ugandans went to the polls on Thursday. The stronger challenger to dethrone Museveni, Dr Kizza Besigye was arrested and suddenly released before the polls.

Museveni has been at helm of Uganda for more than 30 years. He’s also likely to win  the election as voters intimidation, rigging and invalidity of vote counts by the international observers has been widely seen by the international observers.

In Juba, the sending of the 1400 troops as well as money funding to President Yoweri Museveni’s re-election is seen as a special favour by the government in return for his involvement in south sudan internal conflict, where UPDF sided with the regime in Juba
