JUBA – After the Republic of South Sudan get its independent, the most powerful nation on earth U.S.A, British, Russia, China, etc., took them no time to recognize South Sudan as an independent state, but the World giant, Google takes long time to recognize South Sudan on the map.

That delay for Google to recognized South Sudan on the world map caused uproar among South Sudanese.

John Mabusu, a South Sudanese and journalist who is living in Washington, launched a petition on Change.org. John was not happy why it took longer for Google to recognize the newly independent nation on the world map.

He said, “The inclusion of South Sudan will give the people of that new nation pride and a sense of belonging, as citizens of a sovereign nation on the map.”

“I’m hoping that now that Google has officially recognized South Sudan on their maps, the other major online mapping services will quickly follow suit,” John continued.

He added, “The people of South Sudan fought long and hard for their independence and suffered greatly. It’s time these maps reflect their efforts and catch up.” Google has now officially recognized South Sudan on the map.
